Friday Music Concert Series

The Friday Music concert series are weekly concerts, featuring classical and operative music presented by emerging musicians, professional ensembles, and larger music groups.

Classical music is often characterized by formality and complexity in its musical form and harmonic organization. The term 'classical music' is now used generically to refer to music from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and contemporary eras, including recently composed works, and works from centuries past. There is a focus on the skill and musicality of the performers, and showcasing the particular characteristics of the instruments being used.

The performance of recently composed music allows for this genre to be constantly developing and moving forward; this is especially important considering classical music's roots in Europe, and encouraging an openness to a more Australian sound.

St Stephen's Sydney Music and Cultural Foundation is pleased to support the creation and performance of classical music in Sydney. Friday Music's page can be found at https://www.ssms.org.au/friday-music.html
