Organ

The St Stephen’s Organ Scholarship offers an unparalleled opportunity for a talented young organist to develop their performance skills significantly during the period of their academic studies. St Stephen’s Uniting Church contains one of the finest organs in Sydney, providing a superb facility for public performances; and there are many opportunities for the Organ Scholar to develop a reputation as a performer of distinction.
The Organ Scholar's duties include acting as an Assistant Organist to a full-time professional Director of Music - accompanying the choir in regular services, concerts, and professional engagements. The Organ Scholar receives a financial award each year. In addition to this stipend, there may be other opportunities and benefits available.

Past Organ Scholars have gone on to further studies in Europe and Australia, and to professional careers in Sydney and elsewhere.
It is expected that applicants for this scholarship will be students at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and will have an excellent academic record. Applicants are expected to provide a Resume, complete an audition with the St Stephen’s Director of Music and be interviewed by the Minister at St Stephen’s.
